Got a list of small electrical jobs? How to get them all done in one visit

Every home has the list. The socket that stopped working months ago. The light fitting still in its box since Christmas. The switch that crackles, the extractor fan that sounds like a jet engine, the doorbell that needs wiring in. None of them feel worth a callout on their own, so the list just grows.

Here’s the thing: the list is exactly what we want. Small jobs are some of our favourite work, and doing the whole lot in one visit is the cheapest way to get them done.

What counts as a small job?

If it takes minutes to an hour or two, it’s a small job. The usual suspects:

• Replacing sockets and switches, or adding USB sockets
• Swapping a light fitting or fixing one that’s stopped working
• Replacing downlights or lamps that keep failing
• A circuit that keeps tripping
• Replacing a noisy or broken extractor fan
• Wiring in video doorbells, smart thermostats and other smart devices
• An outdoor light or socket that’s given up

If it’s electrical and it’s been annoying you, it’s on the list.

Why one visit beats four callouts

Our minimum charge is £90, which covers the callout and the first hour. After that it’s £50 an hour. So four separate visits for four small jobs costs you four callouts. Hand us all four jobs in one visit and most of them get done inside the first hour or two.

A real example: a replacement light fitting, two new sockets and a crackling switch, done in a single morning visit, usually comes in around the cost of one and a half callouts rather than four. Same jobs, same electrician, less money.

How to hand us the list

WhatsApp is easiest. Send us a photo of each job with a line of what’s wrong and we’ll come back with a price and a visit time, usually within the working day. Or use the quote form and type the list out.

You don’t need to tidy up, know what anything is called, or have picked out fittings. A photo of the thing that’s broken tells us most of what we need.

The honest bit

Occasionally a “small job” turns out to be a bigger one. A tripping circuit can be a faulty appliance, or it can be a wiring fault. If we find something bigger, we’ll tell you straight, make it safe, and give you a fixed written quote for the proper fix before any extra work happens. No surprise invoices, ever.
