Same-day & urgent callouts

Emergency electrician in Hereford

Lost power, a burning smell at the fuseboard, an RCD that won't reset: call us and we'll send the first available electrician. The callout is £90 including the first hour, and most faults are fixed within it.

Answered Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm. Based at Hampton Park, most Hereford addresses are under 15 minutes from us.

Faults we get called to most

  • Whole house or partial loss of power
  • Fuseboard tripping and refusing to reset
  • Burning smell or scorch marks at sockets or the fuseboard
  • Buzzing or crackling from switches and fittings
  • Water leak onto electrics in a bathroom, kitchen or loft
  • No hot water or heating because an immersion or feed has failed

If your board looks like this photo (a wooden-backed fuse box or a board with old rewireable fuses) a fault isn't a surprise, it's a matter of time. We'll get you safe first, then quote a proper upgrade if you want one.

What an urgent callout costs

ChargePrice
Callout, including the first hour on site £90
Each hour after that £50

Prices exclude VAT. Parts charged at cost, and we tell you before fitting anything. No fault found still costs the callout, but that's rare: we don't leave until we know why it tripped.

Honest about hours

We answer Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm, and we don't claim a 24/7 hotline we can't staff. Out of hours: a street-wide power cut is your network operator's job: dial 105, free from any phone. Smoke, sparks or fire, call 999 and get out. Anything that can wait until 8am, call us first thing and you'll be top of the list.

Emergency callout questions

How quickly can you get to me?

We work first-available: if a van is free, it comes straight to you. Faults in Hereford itself are often reached the same day; the rest of the county depends on where the team is working. Call us and you get an honest ETA, not a promise we can't keep.

What does an emergency callout cost?

The minimum charge is £90, which includes the first hour on site. After that it's £50 an hour. Most common faults (a tripping circuit, a dead socket ring, a failed switch) are found and fixed within that first hour.

Are you available at night or on weekends?

We don't advertise 24/7 cover. We'd rather be straight with you than have a phone that rings out at 2am. We answer Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. Out of hours, a power cut across your street is a call to 105 (free, any network), and if you ever see fire or smell burning, call 999 first.

My fuseboard keeps tripping. What should I do before you arrive?

Unplug appliances one at a time, then try resetting the RCD. If it holds, the last thing you unplugged is likely the culprit, so leave it unplugged and you may not need us at all. If it won't reset with everything unplugged, leave it off and call us: that's a wiring fault, not an appliance.

Got a fault right now?

Call and tell us what's happened. We'll tell you if it's safe to wait, what to switch off, and when the first van can reach you.
