How much do you charge?
It is all on our public price list: £90 callout including the first hour then £50 an hour, EICRs from £200, fuseboards from £800, rewires from £4,500, day rate £400. Anything bigger than a straight swap gets a free written quote first, and the written quote is fixed.
Are you actually qualified and insured?
TR Electrical is an NICEIC Approved Contractor, which means our work, premises, test equipment and certification are assessed by the NICEIC. We are fully insured, and notifiable work goes to building control under Part P.
What areas do you cover?
Hereford and the whole county: Ledbury, Leominster, Ross-on-Wye, Bromyard, Kington, Credenhill, Weobley and the villages in between. Prices are the same across Herefordshire.
How quickly can you come out?
Booked jobs usually get a slot within the week. Urgent faults get the first available van during working hours, Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm, and Hereford addresses are often reached the same day.
Do you work evenings or weekends?
We answer Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, and we don't claim a 24/7 hotline we can't staff. Out of hours: a street-wide power cut is a call to 105 (free from any phone), and smoke or fire is 999 first.
When do I get my certificate?
Quickly, by email, once the testing and paperwork are finished. Landlords and letting agents get a PDF that drops straight into their compliance records.
Do I have to use you for remedial work after an EICR?
No. You get the remedial quote in writing before we leave and you are free to take it to anyone. Most people use us because the quote is already in their hand, but that is your call, not a condition.
Can I just WhatsApp you a photo of the problem?
Please do, it is the fastest route to a price. A photo of the fuseboard, the fitting or the fault plus one sentence is enough for us to price most small jobs on the spot.
Do you charge for quotes?
No. Quotes are free, written, and valid when we give them. You will never get a surprise number after the work.
Is any job too small?
No. The £90 minimum visit covers the first hour, and if we can fix two or three small things in that hour, we will. Save up the niggles and hand us the list.
