Out with the old
This was a faulty storage heater we replaced with a newer model as the days got colder, one of ours in Hereford. Modern high-retention heaters hold heat far better than the bricks-in-a-box units from the 80s, and they meter what they cost you far more honestly.
Questions we get asked
Are new storage heaters actually better?
Substantially. High-retention models are better insulated, thermostatically controlled and work with off-peak tariffs properly, so less of your cheap-rate heat leaks out by breakfast.
Is electric underfloor heating expensive to run?
In a well-insulated bathroom used as a bathroom, no: it takes the chill off tiles for pennies. As the only heating for a large draughty room, yes. We will tell you which case yours is before you commit.
