Six downlights, one room, two moods
This open-plan Hereford kitchen had downlights over the kitchen end and a lone pendant over the sitting area. We ran the downlight lines across the whole room and switched them separately from the pendant, so one room now works as two.
Questions we get asked
Why do my LED bulbs flicker on the dimmer?
Old dimmers were made for filament bulbs and most LEDs hate them. The fix is a trailing-edge dimmer matched to the lamps, which is a small job we can usually do within the £90 minimum visit.
How many downlights does a room need?
Fewer than most installers fit. Position matters more than quantity: over worktops and tables, not in a grid for its own sake. We lay it out with you before drilling anything.
