This Hager board replaced an old unit in a Hereford home. Separate RCBO protection on every circuit means the freezer stays on when the shower circuit trips, and the labelling means the next electrician (or you, at 10pm) can see exactly what is what.
Questions we get asked
How do I know if my fuseboard needs upgrading?
Wooden backing, rewireable fuses with coloured dots, no test button, or a board that has had extras bolted on over the years: any of those and it is worth a look. WhatsApp us a photo and we'll tell you honestly. If it is safe, we say so.
How long does the swap take?
Most straight swaps are done in a day, and the power is only off for part of it. Testing every circuit afterwards is what takes the time, and it is not optional: that is what the certificate certifies.
Will you find problems once the old board is off?
Sometimes, and we quote before touching anything extra. Occasionally an old installation needs remedial work before a modern board will hold in, which is a good thing to discover on our test equipment rather than during a fault.
