myenergi eddi fitted in Hereford
An eddi sends the solar power you would otherwise export into your hot water cylinder instead. Export earns 3p to 13p a unit. Hot water you did not have to heat with oil, gas or the grid is worth more. Much of Herefordshire is off mains gas, which makes it worth a look here.

Who it suits
- Homes with a hot water cylinder and an immersion heater.
- Oil, LPG or electric heating, where hot water is expensive to make.
- Solar owners exporting a lot in summer.
Worth knowing
- It needs something to heat. A combi boiler has no cylinder, so on its own an eddi is not much use there.
- It is far cheaper than a battery, but it only makes heat. Whether a battery suits you better depends on how much power you use in the evening.

Questions we get asked
Is an eddi worth it?
If you have a hot water cylinder and export plenty in summer, usually yes: it turns power you sell for pennies into hot water. With a combi boiler and no cylinder, it is not the right kit.
Eddi or battery?
An eddi only makes heat. A battery runs the whole house in the evening but costs far more. We look at your bills at the survey and tell you which pays.
Does it work with a zappi?
Yes. Both run in the same myenergi app, so the car charger and the hot water diverter are managed in one place.
Exporting more than you use?
WhatsApp us a photo of your hot water cylinder and fuseboard, and we will tell you whether an eddi is worth fitting.
