Sigenergy SigenStor fitted in Hereford

SigenStor is a stacked system: the solar inverter and the battery modules sit in one column, and you add modules as you need them. With Sigenergy's gateway fitted it keeps the house running in a power cut. It is one of the systems we fit across Hereford and Herefordshire.

Who it suits

  • Anyone who wants to start with one battery module and add more later.
  • Rural homes that lose power: with the gateway it backs up the house.
  • Drivers who want the EV charger in the same system.

Worth knowing

  • Keep it online. If the system is offline for more than a year in total, Sigenergy cut the warranty to 5 years.
  • The 10-year battery warranty is to 60% of capacity, so check that against other batteries you are quoted.
  • Whether the backup covers the whole house or essential circuits is a design choice we make with you at the survey.

Questions we get asked

How big a Sigenergy battery do I need?

It depends on what you use in the evening. Modules come in 5.84kWh and 8.76kWh usable, and you can stack up to six, so we size it from your bills rather than guessing.

Will it keep my power on in a power cut?

Yes, with Sigenergy's gateway fitted. Without it, like any grid-connected solar system, it shuts down when the grid goes off.

Can I add more batteries later?

Yes. That is the point of the stacked design: up to six modules on one controller.
