Ohme Home Pro fitted in Hereford

The Ohme Home Pro is the charger for smart-tariff drivers: it charges when electricity is cheapest, and Octopus lists it for Intelligent Octopus Go. It has its own colour screen and buttons, so you are not stuck if your phone is flat. We fitted one by the front door of a house in Fownhope, with the supply run tight along the soffit.

Who it suits

  • Drivers on a cheap overnight EV tariff.
  • Anyone who wants controls on the charger itself, not only in an app.
  • Single-phase homes, which is most houses round here.

Worth knowing

  • There is no three-phase version.
  • Load balancing and solar both rely on the clamp. If load balancing is on and the clamp is missing or faulty, the charger drops to 16A, so a sudden slow charge is the first thing we check.

How we work, what moves the price and the paperwork are on our main EV charger installation page.

Questions we get asked

Does the Ohme Home Pro work with Octopus?

Yes. Octopus lists the Ohme Home Pro as working with Intelligent Octopus Go.

Does it need an earth rod?

It has PEN fault detection built in, which normally removes the need for one. We confirm it for your supply when we look at the job.

My Ohme has started charging slowly. Why?

Often the clamp. With load balancing on, a missing or faulty clamp drops it to 16A. Send us a photo of the charger screen and we will tell you whether it needs a visit.

Want an Ohme fitted?

WhatsApp us a photo of your fuseboard and where the car parks. That is usually enough for a price.
